The bassoon is the lower of the double reed instruments and is considered to be the bass instrument in the woodwind section of the orchestra, often doubling with the cellos in the music. As it is a less popular instrument, there are normally more opportunities for a bassoon player.

We have a range of second hand bassoons in stock, starting with the mini bassoon enabling younger players to start on bassoon as a full size bassoon is quite big and heavy for a child. The next size up is the Tenoroon – a slightly larger Mini Bassoon and then a Short Reach Bassoon, which is a full size bassoon with an additional key for smaller hands. Full size bassoons are available for the beginner, but we also have upgraded bassoons for the more advanced player.

Reeds are required for the bassoon – these can last 10 seconds or several months! We would advise having a couple of spare reeds available at all times and we have bassoon reeds in stock. We also have a selection of cleaning products, cases, reed cases and straps for bassoons.
